Siyakholwa In Making A Difference

Our Impact

Siyakholwa Support Care Centre is a non-profit organisation
that aims to alleviate poverty, protect orphans and vulnerable children and educate disadvantaged communities.

CHANGING SOUTH AFRICA

Since 2010

Feeding Scheme

Food Provision Programmes

Siyakholwa Support Care Centre & sponsors donated food to 7200 orphans and vulnerable children and 12000 primary caregivers taking Antiretroviral (ARV) with our ovc&youth soup kitchen and food parcel programmes in 2019.

Every year on the 18th of July, Siyakholwa Support Care Centre holds a Mandela Day Event where we prepare food and feed all our centre situated disadvantaged orphans and vulnerable children. As well as give out blankets to grannies in the community.

Each Christmas, we collect food donations and distribute the gifts to those in need in our community.

Empowerment Program

Health Education

Siyakholwa Support Care Centre implemented the Empowerment Program where we equip youth aged 12 to 18 (and up to 24) in impoverished urban and pre-urban areas with age-appropriate personal and social skills to build their self-efficacy and assertive refusal skills.

Through this programme, we teach the youth about the effects of substance abuse.

We provide aid and education to help them not feel helpless and ultimately hope to prevent them from becoming vulnerable to drug abuse, alcohol, and turning to prostitution as a solution. We educate them to warn them that this would put them at high risk of human trafficking, gender-based violence and diseases such as HIV and STI’s.

Youth Development

Poverty Alleviation

We build a relationship with disadvantaged communities by providing innovative ideas, teaching leadership skills, developing the youth and creating job opportunities for communities most in need of it.

Our programmes include Business Management, Hostess, Waiter, Chef and Baking, Music For Beginners, Customer Service, Sewing, Events and Décor, Flowers arrangement, Edu-Fun Play, Shoe Making, Introduction to Sound Engineering and Computer courses.

Orphan & Vulnerable Children Program

Orphan Protection

Siyakholwa Support Care Centre accommodated 870, children and  orphans, vulnerable youths and  disabled individuals in underprivileged and disadvantaged households through our organisation and programmes. As well as provided monthly food parcels for those in dire need.

We run free, toy library activities, early intervention programmes and therapeutic programmes to promote early education to children in the Rondebult Low-Income households and surrounding underprivileged communities.

Our NPO provides Early Childhood Development Department programmes to help prepare our orphans and vulnerable children for better long term prospects and future living.

In January 2020 we started our yearly distribution of school uniform, school shoes and stationery to those children who cannot afford these necessities, which is something only made possible by the generous donations we have received thus far.
